Our first meeting with a new client is all about getting to know you and your business. We want to know intimately what makes your company tick. We also want to know your client base and what they expect from your website when they visit. Some of our small business customers acknowledge they have not addressed these issues in quote a long time.
Here are some topics and questions that we will address:
Once we get to know a little more about your business we are ready to move onto the next step in the design process
Once we know a more about your business and your competitors we begin our in depth discovery process. This is where the SEOTA team assembles a plan of action based on your unique requirements, your competition and what you expect to accomplish with your new website. We analyze niche websites across the web and create your format based on currently successful models.
From this we formulate a plan and move on to site architecture.
Depending on the depth and detail of your website, this process can go quickly for a small site or take 100s of man hours for a large site.
The deliverable from this phase is a wire-frame which accounts for your site’s taxonomy and link structure. Usability is key to a good website design. Making it easy for customers to find what they need will help you funnel them to the most relevant areas on your site. At this point that we incorporate SEO into the design. Your site architecture and link structure is a critical part of any SEO strategy.
This is the fun stuff – our graphic artist will take all the information we have gathered and create a home page drawing. Typically we draw a desktop, mobile and tablet version of the home page. The home page design will be the basis for the whole website and will show color scheme, link structure and usability detail. We collaborate with you for feedback and make adjustments accordingly.
Once you approve the home page design we move on to designing the individual page types: categories, content, contact, shopping carts, etc. This is all done as digital artwork.
Once the artwork has been approved we move on to website coding. All major changes to the design should be decided at this point. Design changes are much easier when we are working with drawings- once we start custom coding these changes present new challenges. Coding is done in Frisco, Chicago and India.
This is the phase where our coding specialists turn the drawings into functional websites employing the latest technologies. Even if you are using a system as simple as WordPress we still code the site design from the ground up.
Once we finish development we move the code to our test environment and test the functionality and look for errors. Once we are satisfied we then give you the site to test drive. If you approve the site after the test drive then we move the code to your hosting account. Time to start marketing!
